Sedation dentistry to ease fear and anxiety
We offer various forms of sedation
- Penthrox Sedation
- Intravenous Sedation via a visiting anaesthetist
As we are located within a health facility we also have access to medical doctors who can offer other forms pharmacological sedation where appropriate.
Dental anxiety is a very real barrier to oral health. Approximately 16% of Australian adults have high dental anxiety. Dental anxiety not only results in poorer oral health, but also to reduced frequency of dental visiting. People with dental anxiety are afraid to visit the dentist and are also more likely to cancel a dental appointment or fail to attend on the day of the appointment.

Will I need to go to hospital for IV sedation?
No, ‘in most cases’ the anaesthetist can perform the sedation onsite
