CEREC enables your dentist to insert esthetic ceramic crowns in a single session

CEREC

What is CEREC?

No unpleasant impression material

Say goodbye to biting on impression material for several minutes, your dentist now has a camera that can capture your full dentition in seconds and then transfer this to the computer.

No bothersome temporary prosthesis

Temporary prostheses are exactly what the name suggests: temporary. With CEREC the final prosthesis is inserted directly without any temporary compromises needed.

No follow-up appointment

CEREC enables your dentist to insert esthetic ceramic crowns or partial crowns in a single session. This minimises the impact of dental treatment on your busy life.

Long-term stability

More than just a theory: With CEREC you can rely on quality that has been proven millions of times over in practice. Furthermore, thanks to your new dental prosthesis made by CEREC, your smile will be just as lovely many years later as it is directly after receiving the prosthesis.

The Process

Digital impression

1. We capture an image of the area to be treated with an intraoral scanner.

Tooth design in 3D

2. A 3D model of your teeth and your new restoration are immediately created on the computer.

In-house production

3. The restoration is then quickly milled from a ceramic block directly in the clinic.

Placement

4. We place your custom-fit restoration, during the same visit.

Teeth Whitening

Smile not what it used to be? Let us restore your shine and give your teeth an extra spark.

Teeth that function normally

Materials used in CEREC restorations are able to mimic the aesthetics and function of natural teeth. This means that in most cases you can go back to eating and drinking the things you love, in moderation of course.

Fast and easy procedure

Typically, when you get a crown or veneer, your dentist would have to send it off to be made in a laboratory. By using CEREC we can take diagnostic scans and create your restoration in the one appointment, without the need for temporary crowns or impression trays.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does CEREC compare to traditional crown procedures?

Traditional procedures involve a visit to take a traditional impression consisting of a tray and flowable impression material. Following this you would need to wear a temporary crown for approximately two weeks. On your return, you would have the temporary crown removed and the new crown bonded onto your tooth. With CEREC you have a digital impression taken, then the new crown created and inserted all within the one appointment.

How does CEREC work?

We will take scans of the tooth requiring restoration. A digital impression is created from this scan, which is used to design a customised, 3D tooth supported restoration. A precise milling machine then creates this restoration using natural ceramics that closely resemble your normal tooth enamel.

How long do CEREC crowns last?

A well designed and bonded CEREC restoration can last many years if well looked after. We will provide you with care instruction to help you preserve its longevity.
